Aria - Las Vegas - Mattress

Hi ElectricBlue26,

There is more about the different ways that one mattress can “match” another one in post #9 here but since they don’t provide the specifics of the layers and components in their mattress … and even if they did it’s unlikely that you would be able to find another mattress that was exactly the same anyway … the only way to know how closely another mattress will “match” the Aria for any specific person in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) will be based on your own careful testing or personal experience.

“Feel” is also very subjective and I would also be cautious using using a specific mattress as your “target” or reference point because it may not be the best possible match for you in the first place compared to other mattresses that you haven’t tried and you could end up excluding many other mattresses that may be different but could be a better choice in terms of PPP. Instead of using a specific mattress as a reference point I would rate every mattress you consider against a common set of criteria (rather than against another mattress) using the testing guidelines in the tutorial post and based on which one is the best “match” for you in terms of PPP and all the other parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you.

I would also keep in mind that like most mattresses made by the major manufacturers … the Aria uses some lower quality/density and less durable materials which can soften or break down prematurely so it would be a very risky choice anyway in terms of the durability and useful life of the mattress.

There is a shorter version of the mattress shopping tutorial at the end but I don’t make specific suggestions or recommendations for either a mattress, manufacturers/retailers, or materials because the first “rule” of mattress shopping is to always remember that you are the only one that can feel what you feel on a mattress and there are too many unknowns, variables, and personal preferences involved that are unique to each person to use a formula or for anyone to be able to predict or make a specific suggestion or recommendation about which mattress or combination of materials and components would be the best “match” for you in terms of “comfort” or PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) or how a mattress will “feel” to you based on specs (either yours or a mattress) or “theory at a distance” that can possibly be more accurate than your own careful testing (using the testing guidelines in step 4 of the tutorial) or your own personal sleeping experience (see mattress firmness/comfort levels in post #2 here).

I can certainly help you to narrow down your options, help you focus on better quality/value choices that are available to you either locally or online, help you identify any lower quality materials or weak links in a mattress you may be considering, act as a fact check, answer any specific questions you may have along the way that I am able to help with, and help with “how” to choose but only you can decide which specific mattress is the best match for you based on your own careful testing or personal experience and on all the parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you.

You can certainly find better quality mattresses that use more durable materials in lower budget ranges than the mattresses that are made by the major manufacturers and I would avoid mattresses made by the major manufacturers anyway (see the guidelines here). This would be especially true for hotel mattresses which are generally even more costly than similar mattresses that are made for consumers.
