Well we decided to go with this because of the option to adjust the layers.
Should we unpack the mattress and let it air out for a few days before sleeping on it? Thanks

I think you should be fine sleeping on it the same night you unpack it although it may have some residual odor which should dissipate fairly quickly.
I talked with them about the 12 in 1 customizable mattress and it has 6 different arrangements that can be used for the polyfoam layers and then the quilted cover is also a different firmness on each side of the mattress so this would give you a total of 12 possible combinations (although some of them may not be practical) so the component design is very unique for a polyfoam mattress and you have many ways to fine tune the mattress if necessary.
