Box spring for Dreamfoam 12 in 1

We bought the bed below for our Dreamfoam 12 in 1 matress. I added slats to it and it is fine but it is too low. My wife will be coming home from hospital in a few weeks and we think and have thought that the bed is a little too low. Can we add a box spring to this bed? Is it okay to put the Dreamfoam on a box spring? And advice would be great.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Mstrlucky74,

I wouldn’t add a box spring (which has springs that flex) because they wouldn’t be suitable for a foam mattress but a foundation that has a rigid non flexing and evenly supportive surface would work well. Dreamfoam sells one here that would be suitable and there is more about foundations and some good options and sources for suitable non flexing foundations in the foundation post here.

Phoenix do you know anything about this foundation. It’s a little cheaper than the Dreamfoam…we are on a budget. Thanks.

Hi Mstrlucky74,

Unfortunately I’m not familiar with its construction.

Hello Phoenix. Thinking of buying the foundation below for our Dreamfoam 12in1 but I’m concerned it’s not wood. I know you posted a link to this above but do you think it will do a good job for our mattress? THanks.

Hi Mstrlucky74,

This is one of the foundations that Brooklyn Bedding suggests for their mattresses and yes … it would be fine :).
