Brooklyn Bedding Best Mattress Ever

Hi 1nightstan,

I don’t have any personal experience with any of the products you mentioned but hopefully some of the members here that do will see your post and share their comments and feedback.

If the foundation you are referring to is the Simple Life foundation then an exact term site search on “simple life” (you can just click the link) will bring up more comments and feedback about it and it would certainly make a suitable choice for the BestMattressEver. This topic also has more information about support systems that would be suitable for your mattress as well.

While I can’t make any specific suggestions for anything that you can “feel” because there are too many individual preferences involved and only your own experience can tell you whether any pillow works well for you … there is more information about choosing a pillow in the pillow topic here and the other topics it links to that may be helpful.

There is also more information about sheets and bedding in post #7 here and the other posts and sources of information it links to that should be helpful as well.

Our Leesa arrived on Thursday. It is too early to tell if it is the right mattress for us. Going from a spring mattress to foam is a big difference. For the first two nights we had our old box springs underneath. I know that was not recommended but its all we had. It did not support the mattress well as expected. I added some plywood between the mattress and box spring and that helped some. Now we have a proper foundation and I’m looking forward to testing the difference tonight. So I can at least confirm what Leesa says about proper support. We purchased this from Amazon, Easy Fit Box Spring Foundation by Box Spring King
Link: https://amzn.com/B00471CX3U

It was a bit expensive but seemed to be a better option than the metal ones.

Now back to the Leesa. I look forward to getting used to it over the coming weeks and hope it will be the right fit for us. I can only compare it to is the Tuft and Needle. It is a lot less firm than the T&N. (IMHO) We didn’t like that one. When you first get into the bed it seems a bit odd vs a spring mattress but you get used to it. I have slept fine and it seems like I am not rotating around as much. I’m a side sleeper. So regardless of what foam mattress you choose you should expect an adjustment from a traditional spring mattress. Hopefully I can can piece together a more detailed review at a later date.

Hi ckole,

I switched your post to your original topic and also added “Leesa” to the title so it had better continuity and the title was a better reflection of the mattresses you were considering.

Thanks for taking the time to share your initial comments and feedback about your Leesa mattress and I’m looking forward to any additional comments you have the chance to share once you’ve had the chance to sleep on it for a little longer.

Hi Everyone,
I just completed ordering my mattress from Brooklyn Bedding. The sales process was super simple, and the price from my perspective can’t be beat. This is for my son’s bed, so now I have a twin Ikea latex, a king Spindle Mattress and a Full BB. I am looking forward to see how BB stacks up against the spindle, as the Ikea doesn’t suit me, though my son seems to love it.
Thanks to Mario for a quick an painless process!

Thanks for the info I spoke to them Saturday and they referred me to look at reviews on amazon, I guess they listed there first so they have accumulated some reviews which were helpful. Also said they will be coming out with some bamboo sheets in the near future. I’m gonna try these but look forward to also order a set of bamboo sheets when they come in. Another question I have is about a guest room bed. I really love my bed and thinking of putting one in a guest room too. Wondering if a medium or firm would be best and would just like your opinion. Most of my guest are average to lighter weight people so I was thinking medium. I asked Mario at brooklyn bedding and he agreed. What are your thought on this?

Thanks,
Stan

We got our mattress on Friday, still waiting for the new frame though. It feels really nice! My girlfriend was set in wanting firm, but I said we should try the medium first. She is perfectly happy with it. Medium is not squishy at all.

You don’t “sink” like a memory foam mattress, in fact the feeling is pretty hard to describe. Just feels like a lack of pressure points. There’s no motion transfer which I was a little worried about due to the springy nature of latex. Also, it sleeps totally cool, no heat problems at all.

The pillows are great for side sleeping, but a little too high for back sleeping, just in my opinion. They’ve very luxurious either way.

We’re ordering another for another family member :).

Hi gatpapa,

Congratulations on your new mattress

As you know I think you made a great quality/value choice and I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback when you receive it.

Hi 1nightstan,

I would agree that a medium would fit the widest part of the bell curve that would be suitable for more people “on average” than either soft or firm.

Hi Bran88,

Thanks for sharing your initial comments and feedback … I appreciate it.

It certainly sounds like you made the most suitable firmness choice as well.

Bought our second mattress from Brooklyn Bedding. Needed a twin for our day bed at our lake house. The wife’s favorite nap place. We are buying to more queens to slowly swap out the old stuff we brought with us. It was hard to buy latex as it’s not widely available to test and after one failed attempt we almost went conventional again. Glad we trusted our instincts and reading this forum and bought our 1st two mattresses. The latex is the perfect spot between spring and memory foam and Brooklyn Bedding quality and customer service is spectacular

Finally got a chance to review the Mattress after sleeping on it for a week.
I purchased a King size - Medium and the mattress has been wonderful, and initially was contemplating between BB and Dreamfoam Eurotop.
At the end decided to go with BB since they use more 2+2 inch of latex + egg crate foam base.

The purchase experience was very smooth, The Customer Rep (Mario) being very responsive to answer all of my questions.

Since the purchase come with one free King size pillow, I inquire about how much is it to purchase a second one, and to my surprise they give me the 2nd one for free. That was a pleasant surprise.

My previous mattress was a mid price queen NovaForm about $600 from 8 years ago from Costco,
it started to sag and does not support us well, i’m only about 160 pound and my wife is 100 pound.

I feel that BB mattress is a much better quality mattress. The latex give better support and nice bounce.
The medium firm fit us well, but not sure for heavier people though.
Overall, I will be more than happy to purchase another BB mattress if i need one in the future.

Hi lgusti and Dcminatl,

Congratulations to both of you on your new mattresses

It’s great to hear that both of your choices have worked out so well for you.

Hello,
I never post. Ever post things on-line, but I will post about my purchase from Brooklyn Bedding. My husband and I are in a desperate need of a good nights sleep so I started doing research for a better mattress. I came across this blog on my research and I was convinced this is the one; especially for the price. I got on-line (after the go ahead from the other half) and went to order. I came across a snag. It’s just our mattress is so old I didn’t know what firmness to order. I spoke with Mario, very kind and understanding with my bombardment of questions, and he lead me to what I feel will be a perfect fit for my husband and I. Thanks again Mario! I’m still waiting for the mattresses (split king bed) to come in and get used. I hope this will be the beginning of some sweet dreams instead of the painful nightmares! I will post the results later.

Similar to many folks - have been compiling info (in my head) for a new mattress. After reading lots of posts on here, and getting some questions answered by Mario at Brooklyn Bedding, going for the Best Mattress Ever. Seems like a great product in theory, and for a great price. Hoping I won’t even consider having to use the generous return policy! (And hopefully will post an update once I’ve had a chance to break in the mattress.)

Hi canoodle1,

Congratulations on your new mattress as well

I’m also looking forward to your comments once you receive it and have had the chance to try it out.

I purchased the BB mattress and have been sleeping on it for about a week now and am satisfied with the mattress so far. I got the King size medium firmness and it might be a little to firm for my wife and I but we like a soft mattress. I am a hot sleeper and am happy to say that really hasn’t been an issue and I live in Miami. For the price I would say this is a great deal. My only con (and it really isn’t one) is that if you are looking for a luxury/high end mattress I don’t think this is it. I tried some latex mattress’ at a local high end store to make sure I would like it and those mattress seemed to be much more comfortable overall, but they where in the $3-8k range, so for $900 I think the BB mattress is a steal and am happy with my purchase.
