I have been struggling with my mattress purchase decision. I know for certain that I do not like a memory foam mattress of any kind. I have had a latex mattress and did like aspects of it but want the support of inter springs. Long and short I decided to order a 3 inch Latex topper and purchase a flippable inter spring mattress.

Congrats on your new mattress shopping adventure ! Sounds as though you’re doing a good job of narrowing down choices early on and have a good idea of what type mattress you plan to focus your search on. I’m curious about your proposed choice of a two-sided innerspring mattress and 3" latex topper. It’s quite common to add a topper to a two-sided mattress that is in use, to add more comfort to an aging mattress that may have some compression in its top layer but otherwise has good support. There are latex hybrid mattresses available that offer a separate pillow top comfort layer, allowing you to choose a latex comfort layer of varying firmnesses and a pocket coil support array, you can read more about the different types of mattresses here. A latex hybrid mattress may be a good choice and would avoid compressions of a topper placement over a new two-sided mattress.

Now I need to decide which one to purchase. I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area and have looked at your old list from a previous forum. 2 of the stores are no longer in business and was hoping to get some fresh names or online suggestions.

You may have found post #2 which references a number of stores near Pittsburgh, PA, many of which are quite far from the city. I have ties to the area and know it fairly well; if you don’t mind sharing your zip code, I may know of showrooms where you could make visits and test mattresses for comparison.
