As you know I think highly of Mark and Dixie Foam Beds and you certainly made a great quality/value choice. Congratulations on your new mattress 
I’m looking forward to any additional updates you have the chance to share once you’ve received it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.
Platform beds are more of a furniture item which is somewhat outside the main focus of the forum and aren’t something that I spend a great deal of time researching since there are so many different options available and mattresses take up most of my available time.
Having said that … there is more information about the different type of support systems (bedframes and foundations or platform beds) that are generally suitable for different types of mattresses and some examples of each of them (including some platform beds) in post #1 here that may be helpful.
