Dreamfoam and Brooklyn bedding mattresses

Can anybody provide some insight in how the Brooklun Bedding “Cotton Caress”, “iPedic Genesis”, and “Cool Symphony” compare in comfort and firmness to their Dreamfoam line on Amazon?

Can the Dreamfoam line be customized if it is not comfortable?

We tried the TEMPUR-Rhapsody and really liked it but would have a hard time spending that kind of money.

Hi jenn1357,

Comfort and firmness are very subjective and the feel and performance of any mattress depends on body type, sleeping positions, and individual perceptions so the only way to really compare two mattresses for “comfort” would be to test them side by side in real time.

Other than that … the manufacturer themselves would be the best source of information about how any of their mattresses compare to each other “on average” based on their knowledge and experience with their mattresses and feedback from their customers.

In many cases they compare their mattresses to other major brand mattresses that are available locally. In the case of the iPedic the comparisons are to the iComfort line and in the case of their “Cool” or “PureCool” line you would be able to get a good sense of the relative comfort of each of them by testing the Tempurpedic mattresses they compare them to. Some of their Amazon mattresses also make comparisons to some of the major brands that are available locally. This way you can have a better sense of how they will compare for you. They will certainly be happy to give you more detailed information or guidance when you talk with them on the phone.

There is more about making comfort choices in mattress firmness/comfort levels in post #2 here but the only way to evaluate the “comfort” of a mattress is with your own personal testing, by testing a mattress that the manufacturer is confident is comparable, or based your own personal experience after you have purchased it.

I would always keep in mind that no matter how soft or firm or “comfortable” a mattress may be for someone else or how suitable it may be for them in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) … it may be completely different for you. I would be very cautious about using other people’s comfort experiences as a way to choose a mattress (post #13 here has more about using reviews or other people’s experiences as a way to choose a mattress).

Some of them can be customized before a purchase by choosing your comfort layer, some offer layer exchanges after a purchase so you can change the firmness level after a purchase … and some of them can’t be customized at all either before or after a purchase. The description on Amazon will give you the specifics for each mattress.
