I’m not sure why this would have been an issue because in general latex is a more durable material than memory foam (of any density) but in the end the choice between memory foam and latex would be a personal preference (see post #2 here).
More importantly though … congratulations on your new mattress 
I’m looking forward to your feedback once you’ve received it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.
