Hi gidoha4656,
Welcome to our Mattress Forum!
You have a very good short list of places to visit, Congrats for doing such a good job of weeding through the list.
https://soaringheart.com/ They changed ownership a few years back but I am glad to see that they are holding same high standards for products and consumer service. Iād definitely pay them a visit either in Edmonds or Seattle Store.
https://slumberease.com/ with factory and showroom in Marysville is another good place in to go especially if you are looking into custom mattresses or mattress rehabilitation
https://thesleepstoreusa.com/ in Bellevue, same as before They carry a range of alternative brands including Naturepedic, Ergovea, Savvy, Harvest Green, Sleep Craft and others. A good place to get a sense of the difference between hybrid and all latex and between Talalay and Dunlop mattresses The people there are also knowledgeable and helpful.
Provided that BedroomsAndMore retail provides you the specs of the brands they carry thatās a good place to visit. I did not call them for awhile but even though they break down nicely the layering of their mattress they donāt list the density of the foams so that you can check them against the durability guidelines. Iād call them before the visit and ask about the densities of a the foams in mattresses like Laurel . I personally would not try any product for which I do not know the complete set of specs. Their latex hybrids though should be OK, they use 100% Dunlop latex "botanicore latexā from Lien A. They are one of the major latex producers in VietNam (see here ) and while you donāt see their latex as much in North America as Latex Green, Arpico, or CoCo latex ⦠the retailers/manufacturers that Iāve talked with that are familiar with them think highly of them. They make molded and continuous pour 100% natural Dunlop latex.
www.seattlemattress.net/about factory direct carry other brands as well so you have gather some info to exercise discretion
Densmore Innerspring Mattress - 45th Street Bedding It looks like the 45thstreetbeedding is an off shoot of Bedrooms and More as I see the same products (matching names, materials, and similar descriptions) so same comments apply except that 45thās pricing is higher.
Tuft and Needle does not disclose the density of their foams so Iād skip them all together.
A mattress is only as good as its weakest link so outside of whether a mattress is a good match for you in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal Preferences) ⦠the mattress is only as good as the quality of the materials inside it regardless of the name of the manufacturer ⦠Throughout this website, it is often mentioned to avoid āmajorā mattress manufacturers. This is primarily due to their lack of transparency about the quality and specifications of the materials in their mattresses vs. smaller independent manufacturers that make similar mattresses with the same or better quality, are transparent about their materials and designs and often times have lower price points. You may want to read Major Mattress Manufacturers article here . Buzz words wording, patenting and trademarking a foam formulation on their website does not mean higher quality. They do not list the all the mattress specifications you need to know so you can compare the quality of the materials and components to the mattress durability guidelines here. If you can list the specifics of the layers inside one of their mattresses you are considering then Iād be happy to make some comments about the quality of the materials inside it or whether it has any obvious weak links in terms of durability.
I hope this helps you get on the right track
Good luck!
