Initial Impressions/Review Brooklyn Bedding Essence (All Natural latex) mattress

Hi RohitK89,

Thanks for the update and feedback

You’re certainly right that latex is heavy … Dunlop even more than Talalay.

There is more about the normal break in and adjustment period that goes hand in hand with any new mattress in post #3 here

There is also more about the different symptoms that people can experience on a mattress and some of the more common reasons for them in post #2 here.

Once your experience has stabilized and you have some certainty that your experience and “symptoms” are not just part of adjusting to a new sleeping surface then one of the advantages of a component mattress like you have is that it’s very simple to change the comfort level to a firmer or softer version so choosing a mattress that is either too firm or too soft is much less of a risk.

I would always make any changes to a mattress based on a more detailed conversation with the retailer or manufacturer where you purchased it so you can describe your experiences and possible solutions in more detail. Based on your comments though … and assuming that you have a suitable foundation that doesn’t flex under the mattress or that any mattress pads or toppers you may be using aren’t part of the reason for your symptoms … if your experience is still the same in another week or two then changing your comfort layer to a firmer version would certainly seem to make sense.
