By itself it’s not important at all. Everything depends on whether the overall design provides you with your needs and preferences in terms of PPP. There are some people that would be perfectly happy sleeping on a 6" layer of good quality polyfoam and a basic cover with no other layers or a thin futon and for them this is all they need.
While at one point they were selling seconds …they haven’t done this for about a year now. Post #4 here has more recent information about them.
