latex vs pocket coil

I’ve compared the Berkeley Ergonomics triple coil (variously marketed as Astor / Sonata/ Provence / Cairo) against the Green Sleep Ergo Hevea Vimala (soft) and found them very similar in PPP terms. Any other variables to inform the choice?

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi russo,

Neither one have any lower quality materials or weak links in the design so they wouldn’t have any durability issues but for most people springs and latex will feel quite different so it would really be a preference choice rather than a “better/worse” choice.

There is more about the differences between an innerspring and latex support core in post #28 here and the posts it links to.

Microcoils used in comfort layers are also a good quality and durable component and you can read more about them as well in this article and in post #8 here and post #2 here.

There is also more about the most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase in post #13 here that can help you make more meaningful quality/value comparisons between mattresses.
