natura greenspring liberty firm ( formerly linden )

I am considering this mattress from natura, which after some digging come to find out that sommex bedding corp is the liscensee. it is a hybrid with coils latex and wool for about $1400. alittle hesitant to order without trying first. wondering if anyone has had any experience or can give any feedback with regards to natura or more specifically this particular mattress. much thanks

Hi pbeno,

Sommex is actually the owner of the Natura brand (see post #7 here).

There is more about the 3 most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase in post #13 here which can help you make more meaningful quality/value comparisons between mattresses in terms of suitability (how well you will sleep), durability (how long you will sleep well), and the overall value of a mattress compared to your other finalists based on suitability, durability, and all the other parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you (including the price of course and the options you have available after a purchase to fine tune the mattress or the exchange return options that are available to you).

While I can’t speak to how any mattress will “feel” for someone else because this is too subjective and relative to different body types, sleeping positions, and individual preferences, sensitivities, and circumstances … outside of PPP the most important part of the value of a mattress purchase is durability which is all about how long you will sleep well on a mattress. This is the part of your research that you can’t “feel” and assessing the durability and useful life of a mattress depends on knowing the specifics of its construction and the type and quality of the materials inside it regardless of the name of the manufacturer on the label (or how a mattress feels in a showroom or when it is relatively new) so I would always make sure that you find out information listed here so you can compare the materials and components to the quality/durability guidelines here to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in a mattress that would be of concern relative to the durability and useful life of a mattress before making any purchase.

Natura in general tends to use good quality materials in their mattresses and in most cases they don’t have any lower quality materials or weak links in their design but if you can find out and list the specifications of the mattress on the forum (in the article I linked) … and especially the density of the two 1" polyfoam layers in the upper layers of the mattress … I’d certainly be happy to make some comments about the quality and durability of the materials in the mattress and the mattress “as a whole”. Without this information it’s not possible to make any meaningful comments about the quality or durability of any mattress.

Hi pbeno,

Unfortunately the specs you listed are still missing the density of the two 1" layers of polyfoam in the top layers which would be important to know to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in the mattress.

You would need to find out the density of at least one and preferably both of these two layers so that you can confirm that there isn’t more than “about an inch or so” of lower quality or unknown quality materials in the upper layers of the mattress …

hello phoenix,
here is the density u requested

quilt…1in plant based 1…3 lb.
core… 1in certapure plant based foam 1.8 lb.
core…1in certapure plant based foam 1.8 lb

hope this helps

thanks,
pbeno

Hi pbeno,

Thanks for adding the specs of the missing two layers.

The specs you listed meet the minimum guidelines here (no more than about an inch or so of lower quality/density materials and at least 1.8 lb density polyfoam in the comfort layers) so there are no obvious weak links in the mattress that would compromise the durability or useful life of the mattress as long as you aren’t in a higher weight range.

If you are confident that it’s a good match for you in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and your Personal preferences) and that you will sleep well on it and it compares well to the other mattresses you are considering or that are available to you based on all the parts of your personal value equation that are important to you then it would certainly be worth considering as one of your finalists or as a purchase.
