Non standard size mattress

Hi ellenc,

No worries. It’s just that sometimes people reading through the threads who are not familiar with this forum come across statements like that and then I’m receiving multiple requests to “pick” mattresses for people!

A plush Talalay topper is designed mostly to modify you surface comfort, with the primary job of your “deep support” being performed by the polyfoam core within your mattress. There is also more about primary or “deep” support and secondary or “surface” support and their relationship to firmness and pressure relief and the “roles” of different layers in a mattress in post #2 here and in post #4 here that may also be helpful in clarifying the difference between “support” and “pressure relief” and “feel” that may be useful as well.

This uses 2" of 3 lb memory foam with 2" of polyfill above. I don’t know if this was similar to what your old topper contained, but I’m doubting that, as at only 3 lb of memory foam this wouldn’t be considered as durable of a material, and below the 4 lb minimum I recommend. But I’m hoping you have good luck with it.

You’re exactly correct. Those reviews have absolutely no influence or determination of your outcome.
