NuForm Allure Talalay Latex mattress

I’m considering buying this NuForm Allure Talalay Latex mattress from Overstock.com.

It has 3" of blended (30/70) talalay latex on top of an 8-inch urethane foam core, with a choice of firmness for the latex layer.

My question is, I asked customer service for the density foam support core, and was told it was 4 lbs. That seems REALLY high, since when I look at the info on this site, it looks like the range for HD/HR polyfoam is basically 1.5 to 2.5 lbs. I specifically asked to make sure the CSR was referring to the urethane core, not the latex top layer, and was assured that it was the case.

Is it possible that this really is a 4 lb foam core? Or was the CSR just confused?

Thanks for your help!

Hi alisonwonderland,

This topic has more information about the Overstock NuForm that should be helpful.

The CSR at overstock is clearly confused about the foam density of the polyfoam base layer.

It’s also more costly than the closely equivalent Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams latex hybrid mattress which also offers more firmness choices.
