Good morning.
Unfortunately alot of people are in the same boat at you. We build a Hybrid with Talalay but by far our most popular is our Nirvana Mattress. We use 6" Talalay core. By doing this you get a slightly softer feel without sacrificing the support that layered latex can can. We can get away with a slightly soft ILD and keep the support. Even then, most people do a seperate latex pillowtop to really give you the pressure releif. I’m the same weight as your husband, so I “sink” through the pillowtop and fele the firmness of the mattress, while my wife “floats” more on the pillowtop.
I know split is out of the question with the kiddo (we sometimes have our two month old in the bed with us) but we can build a single mattress with one half firmer and one softer for a more customized sleep experiance foryou and your husband.
If you had further questions, please dont hesitate or stop by our showrrom in New Jersey.
