When you can’t test a mattress in person then the most reliable source of guidance is always a more detailed phone conversation with a knowledgeable and experienced retailer or manufacturer (such as SleepEZ) that has your best interests at heart and who can help “talk you through” the specific options they have available based on the information you provide them, any local testing you have done, and the “averages” of other customers that are similar to you. They will know more about “matching” their specific mattress designs to different body types, sleeping positions, and preferences than anyone else.
As you also probably know … latex is the most durable of all the foam materials (latex foam, polyfoam, memory foam) so an all latex mattress will certainly make a very durable choice.
The advantage of a component latex mattress with a zip cover is that in addition to the custom options you have available when you purchase it (by choosing the type and firmness levels for each of the latex layers in the mattress) … you can also fine tune both the comfort and support of the mattress by either rearranging the latex layers or exchanging a layer for a different firmness level after a purchase as well. Having individual layers also means that you can replace just a single layer if one of the layers softens or breaks down before the others (usually the softer top layer) or if your needs and preferences change over time without having to replace the entire mattress.
Overall … if you know you like the feel and response of latex then you are certainly looking at a great quality/value choice.
