Sorry for the confusion! I should not have mentioned the need to incline because it isn’t relevant to my question. Just for context though, to help someone else seeking options to manage their acid reflux, I’m currently using this insert that sits on top of the metal bed rails to incline the bed. It inclines the entire bed rather than simply tilting the top like an adjustable bed does. I sleep on my side, so a tilted top would not work. I want to replace my incline insert with an entirely new slatted bed, like the one sold by KD Frames. To create the incline I need, I will cut the bottom legs down to 8.5 in.
Having explained that now, my question concerns the slats on this foundation. Each slat spans only half the width of the bed. In this post NikkiTMU stated that TMU-trusted members recommend a foundation for latex that has boards all the way across. That’s what I don’t understand. I’d think shorter slats would actually provide MORE support because they would be less prone to bowing. And I also wanted to know if anyone has any experience purchasing from KD Frames. There are several posts on TMU about them and no complaints.
