Ultimate Dreams Eurotop vs Aloe Alexis

Hi iKure,

The rough equivalent to the Dreamfoam Eurotop in terms of mattress thickness would be the Bamboo Bliss which is $300 more in queen (you have to select the size on their site to get the price) but has a nicer cover with wool in the quilting (the cover is a significant part of the cost of a mattress), comes with 2 free pillows (for as long as this promotion continues), a higher quality/density base foam, a better return and exchange policy, and of course the 5% TMU discount which they have agreed to apply for members here even with the 2 free pillows. The TMU “bonus” for the Dreamfoam Eurotop is a shredded latex pillow. The equivalent in terms of feel and performance and basic construction would be the Cotton Camilla which is not quite as thick but has the same components and has fewer firmness choices.

The Alexis on the other hand has two layers of latex (6" in total") as well as a wool quilted Aloe cover and the same exchange and return policy as well as the pillows and 5% discount but is another $200 yet.

The biggest difference between the Alexis and the Eurotop besides the wool quilted cover would be the extra 3" of latex which is a more adaptable, responsive, and higher quality material than polyfoam. You would have latex in both the comfort and transition layers. This would be closer to an all latex mattress than a 3" comfort layer over polyfoam. This along with the wool in the quilting would be a much bigger part of its “value” than just an extra 2" in height.

All of these are great value but have slightly different features so until they have finished the transition for most of their mattresses from Amazon to their own site you have the choice between them and can choose the one that best matches your own personal “value equation”. It may not be an easy choice

As you can see here (a comparison with a latex/polyfoam hybrid to an all latex mattress) I personally would tend towards more latex if I could comfortably afford it because of the way it feels and performs but of course that would only be my personal preference and the extra latex comes with a price which not everyone may be willing or able to pay.
