So after a week+ of research online I went ahead and ordered the Ultimate Dreams Supreme Gel Memory Foam Mattress - 12" / King (Amazon.com) and with Prime shipping I should have it and be able to report as to what we think by this weekend (est delivery of Thursday!).

Thanks, I have read through that so I have a good idea, but was just looking for something like what you just said I will hunt Amazon and places like that since what is around here might be nice, but is also very costly and for now I just need a frame and the headboard can come later

You’ve probably already read this but just in case there are some options for foundations/frames and a few platform beds in the foundation thread here.
