Hi All,

currently I sleep on a memory foam topper, but my back feel too hot in summer. is there any memory foam mattress not too hot, well ventilated? any recommendation?

thanks,

Hi yunr,

You can read a little more about the many factors that can affect the sleeping temperature of a mattress (memory foam or otherwise) in post #2 here.

You can also read more about some of the methods or technologies that are used to cool down memory foam in post #6 here.

There are many variations in memory foam and gel memory foam and because there is no good or specific comparative information available between specific materials other than “marketing” information … there is no way to evaluate a memory foam based on its sleeping temperature alone and your best source of information for the “coolness” of a memory foam mattress or material is a usually good manufacturer or retailer that can give you accurate information about the specific materials they are using and the experience of their customers on the material or topper you are considering. If you tell a good retailer or manufacturer that sleeping temperature is a primary consideration in a memory foam mattress, then the better ones will help you focus on the materials, mattresses, or toppers that in their experience sleep cooler than some of the other models they offer and will generally provide you with good information about why one mattress sleeps cooler than another.

So no specific recommendations (outside of connecting with good retailers or manufacturers) because there isn’t enough information available to make one based on sleeping temperature alone … but there are now many memory foam mattresses that in combination with other technologies sleep cooler than the older generation memory foams that were much more common not too long ago.
