Who makes the bliss line of beds for The Healthy Back Stores in the DC area?

Who makes the bliss line of latex beds for the Healthy Back Stores that are based out of the DC area? Does anyone have any experience with this product? I am looking for a king size bed. They also have a really good return policy supposedly. 90 days full cash refund and 180 days exchange privilege. Has anyone had to use this policy and does it work?

Hi stevef624,

The Healthy Back line is made by Pure Latex Bliss which is owned by Latex International which manufactures the actual Talalay latex that is used inside it. They are a “house brand” which have slight variations vs the regular PLB mattresses but would be close comparisons (you can see the specs of the 3rd generation of the PLB mattresses here). The Healthy back versions would be closely comparable to the PLB mattresses of the same thickness.

Like all mattresses that are made with Talalay latex … they are high quality and durable mattresses although the Healthy Back Bliss and the Pure Latex Bliss mattresses may not be the best “value” available compared to other similar “all latex” mattresses made by many smaller manufacturers. Compared to most mainstream mattresses in the same price range they would typically be “above average” quality/value although of course this also depends on the actual selling price of the mattress compared to other similar mattresses. PLB has what is called MAP pricing (meaning that they have a minimum advertised price) but are often sold for less when you are in the store even though they can’t advertise this.

There are a lot of references to them on the forum and a forum search on both Healthy Back and on Pure latex Bliss (you can just click on either of these) will bring up many more comments and feedback to scan through about both of them.

My experience with Healthy Back itself based on conversations with several of their stores is that they are helpful and knowledgeable about their mattresses and the materials in them and they are certainly a reputable business. I would also keep in mind that any initial shipping charge and the cost of returning the mattress is not refundable (see here) so there are some charges involved in the return process that I would confirm before a purchase.

Phoenix

Phoenix,
While searching for pure LatexBliss retailers I came across Healthy Back’s website and was wondering if they were selling pure LatexBliss mattresses under different names. Thanks for clearing that up.
While checking local retailers they mentioned PLB’s MAP, but as you stated they were willing to negotiate or give you their “On Sale” price.

stevef624,
You can find the PLB retailers in the DC area here: PLB retailers
