4-Week Review: Engineered Sleep Duo Latex Plus

I’ve been using the Engineered Sleep Duo Latex Plus for about 4 weeks now and I’m really happy with it. I discovered this mattress and several other companies through this forum, which has been a great resource.

Comfort:

For reference, I’m around 5’10” / 185 lbs, and my wife is 5’6” / 180 lbs. I previously had a Saatva Firm (King) but had to return it due to persistent shoulder pain. After switching to the Duo Latex Plus, I haven’t experienced any pain or discomfort so far. The feel is around medium, roughly a 5.5/10. You can feel some sink due to the 4 inches of soft Talalay latex. Initially, the softness felt a bit unusual—likely because I was coming from a firm mattress—but both my wife and I adjusted quickly and have been sleeping well without any issues. I’m a back and side sleeper, and the mattress has worked well for both positions.

Cling (Layer Stability):

Engineered Sleep uses what they call “Cling,” which holds the comfort layer and support layer together so they don’t shift or move. In my experience, it has been living up to its expectations, and the layers have remained stable with no noticeable movement.

Temperature:

I tend to sleep hot, and so far the mattress has been temperature-neutral to slightly cool, with no noticeable heat buildup.

Motion Transfer:

There is some motion transfer, but it’s bearable and not disturbing. It’s noticeably better than the Saatva Classic, which had relatively high motion transfer in comparison.

Edge Support:

Edge support has been solid in everyday use. When sitting on the edge, it feels stable and does not collapse much, and I never feel like I’m sliding off. Sleeping close to the edge also feels secure. Compared to the Saatva, the edge here is noticeably softer and less firm. Saatva had a sturdier edge, likely due to its perimeter foam, but the Duo Latex Plus is still very usable and comfortable.

Overall:

The overall customer experience has been very positive, and I’m really enjoying the mattress so far. No regrets with this purchase. I also used the TMU10 for this purchase

Hi Wraith,

Congrats on finding a mattress that’s working so well for you  It’s always great to see someone genuinely happy with a purchase, especially after dealing with discomfort before. Even better that it came from a TMU Trusted Member and that the forum helped along the way. Thanks for sharing your experience and enjoy the great sleep ahead.
