adjustable base - non-negotiable features?

Thanks to the wealth of knowledge on this forum, we have decided to purchase a 9" latex mattress. Yay! Now we are debating splurging on an adjustable bed base to go with it. We prefer the wall hugging models, but for either wall hugging or non-wall hugging, do these adjustable bases work OK for both short (4’11") and tall (6’4") folks? Do you just have to “adjust” your body position (i.e. scooch up or down) as the adjustable base/your mattress is bending into position? I tried one in a local store before we were seriously considering purchasing one so didn’t pay much attention at that time.
For those of you who’ve bought adjustable bases, are there any features that are non-negotiable, i.e. wall hugging capability? I know we would like head and feet adjustments, zero gravity, one touch buttons to return to flat, for example, but maybe don’t need underbed lights or massage or a wireless remote.
Does anyone have any experience on the Lucid L600, PostureClouds, or ClassicBrands (amazon)? Any feedback on reliability is greatly appreciated.

I have an adjustable base we purchased with our Sleep Number bed. It’s a split king, and my husband uses his side every day. I rarely use mine. The wireless remote is a must have for us. If we ever replace it, I’d like to try a wall hugger model.

I’m short, so when I raise the head, I tend to scooch a little to get in the right spot, but it’s not a big deal.

Thanks April for your input. I can live with schooching a bit  but I agree that having the wall hugging feature would be preferable. I’m a big reader, so I think I would use the head/foot adjust features alot.

Hi Juli!

That is great! Congratulations on your mattress purchase!

As you are considering an adjustable base, I’d make sure first to check with the manufacturer or retailer of your new mattress to make sure that the mattress is suitable for use on an adjustable base and that using an adjustable base wouldn’t damage the mattress or void the warranty.

Because wall-hugging is an important feature to you, you may find this thread on the wall hugging features of different adjustable beds useful in your research.

I took a look at the three different bases and compared them back to you your preferences: head/feet adjustments, zero gravity, one-touch button to return to flat.

The Lucid L600 has head/feet adjustments, zero gravity, and the remote appears to show a one-touch to return to flat.

The PostureClouds base also has the head/feet adjustments and zero gravity but I couldn’t find anything regarding the one-touch button to return to flat.

The ClassicBrands base has all of the above.

I don’t have personal experience with any of those but maybe some of our other consumer subscribers who have experience with these bases can weigh in!
Good Luck!
