I purchased a 12" twin xl cool gel memory foam mattress on Amazon. The item is supposed to come shipped in a box, compressed in plastic. FedEx delivered it without the box. The plastic is ok but is not in perfect condition, and there is definitely place where it is exposed to air, I assume the mattress is fine, however being that I was purchasing a new mattress, I complained to Amazon before opening and they agreed to ship me a replacement and even though it was unopened they did not want me to return the mattress.
Now while I realize most here would never buy a used mattress, there are people out there that do not care, especially given that it is not used, just third part. . So I figure I might as well sell this mattress on craigslist rather than throw it away.
My question is , if you were the buyer, would you prefer to see it opened and fully expanded, or sealed in the not so perfect plastic compressed? Keeping it compressed, the buyer knows it is unused and it is easier to transport however opening it, letting it expand, the buyer and I know the condition and can see it at full size but may be more difficult to carry and the buyer can question whether or not it has been used. Debating whether to open or not ???
The stock pic below is what it is suppose to look like expanded though pic is probably a queen, not a twin xl
