I went to the Sleep Number store and tried several beds and really liked the p5 which is one of their best selling beds, but I don’t want to pay their high price. I currently sleep on an air bed made by Comfortaire (no longer in business) which I especially like and I’m sure I want an air bed. Which airbeds made by Innomax or Personal Comfort would be most similar to the Sleep Number p5?
Hi Meribeth, I dont have that information, but just a thought… If you havent already I suspect that someone from each of those companies would be pretty well equipped to answer that question as they are probably asked by customers all the time since so many people have more familiarity with the sleep number beds.
Btw, a few years ago I was really interested in a sleep number or comparable because I am currently on an inexpensive air mattress and had had the opportunity to visit a friends home and sleep on one. It was probably a p5 and i did actually love it. It was probably all of the good information here, however, (including the ‘cons’ I hadn’t considered) that got me considering the benefits of other types of beds. Not trying to deter you if you have already thoroughly researched different types of mattresses , of course, but thought I would throw that out there. Until visiting the forum here I really had No clue that there were quality options for mattresses beyond what you might find in all of the regular mattress showrooms!!

You can see my comments about airbeds in this article. While any mattress may be a good choice for some people … in general terms I would look for other options.
Select Comfort doesn’t provide meaningful information about the foam layers within their mattresses, but I would echo mt_huckleberry’s comments about contacting any other air bed company in which you have an interest for comparison, as they would be used to comparing their products to Select Comfort’s lineup.
By the way, Select Comfort (aka Sleep Number) bought ComfortAire in 2013.
