I’m looking for a new mattress after Saatva has sent me two defective mattresses in a row (the Classic plush which after breaking in feel nothing like display models).
I’ve narrowed it down to three choices which I essentially cannot differentiate between (especially when you’re trying 5-10 a day).
- Aireloom Bel-Air Grove Plush Pillow Top (Bloomingdale’s exclusive)
- Aireloom Streamline Plush
- Asteria Evia Plush Pillow Top (Bloomingdale’s exclusive I believe).
I’m mostly concerned about the durability differences between both airelooms as the Grove (Bloomingdale’s one) is more of a pacific palisades equivalent while the streamline is a preferred, yet the Streamline has more visco layers while the Grove has more Aireluxe.
Meanwhile the sales person was telling me the asteria is a better made mattress and the latex should let it last longer.
Any help, advice, or clarification is appreciated!
Aireloom Streamline is supposedly durable, but who knows.
Spend a 15 min session in your preferred sleep position on only those 3 mattresses. Try to eliminate 1 mattress. Then repeat the same test on the remaining 2 mattreses til you have a winner.
You might really try BackScience 3……designed for side sleeps. So soft, yet supportive.

Thanks John.
Yeah, I’ve tried the three mattresses (and only these three) out for 20 minutes each today after having narrowed it down to them. Really feels like I’m splitting hairs figuring out which is the best for me, hence maybe the quality/reliability might be a tie breaker.
Also, it’s a little tough to compare all three as I have to go to two retailers to do so, but I’m planning on trying them out as much as I can before deciding (and hopefully by then get a good president’s day sale deal haha)
Also, i like to recommend, as long as you are testing the mattresses locally…what @BillyIdol said is appropriate, but dont make a decision the first day if you narrowed down to 3 and then 1. Take a day off and go back and try your winner for another 20-30 minutes, see if you love it as much as you did during the process of elimination.
Sometimes we end up narrowing down to what we imagine to be the best one, and realize it may be the best of the 3, but still not the best for ‘me’.
Spend 1 more day waiting to test it one more time before the true test, in your home, in your environment, with your pillows, sheets, covers, mattress protector and blankets. That is where it counts!
Best of luck to you.

Thanks Maverick. Yeah, I have a policy of trying it 4/5 times for 15-20 minutes before deciding.
It’s the durability aspect that just might sway me - especially at close to a $3000 price point.

I agree with Maverick. Take 2-4 days of trying the mattresses. Time well spent because you will be on it for 1000s of hours. If you try to decide in 1 day…your tiredness might skew your judgement.
Im flabbergasted by people that lay on a mattress for 30 seconds and then make a decision. I appreciate the bias towards action, but an extra 2-4 days is nothing over 15 years of a mattress life.
Take your time. There is no rush.
