Hello. I’m considering purchasing a twin bed with a trundle for my child. The trundle would be for the occasional overnight guest. But I’m concerned about airflow/ventilation. Any insights would be appreciated. (Edit: to clarify, I’m concerned about both mattresses getting enough air flow.)
Specifically, I’m looking at the Room & Board Fort bed and Steel Trundle. The Fort bed has a slatted steel base (no box spring), and the Steel Trundle has a solid steel base.
Based on the measurements provided on their website, when pairing the Fort bed with their Steel trundle/trundle mattress, there should be about 2.5 inches of space between the bottom of the Fort bed’s slats and the top of the trundle mattress. Is that enough for airflow? In this case, would it be important to use bedding that does not drape over the sides of the bed, in order to maximize airflow?
And what about the trundle bed’s solid surface? This does not seem ideal for ventilation, but, it would only be used rarely, for guests.
Thanks for your insight!
