OK first off both intro hello and thanks AND my writing/grammar skills are bad sorry :slight_smile:
user name we are from Maui now live on mainland if anyone is curious I always am about users names :slight_smile:

SO thanks to the great forum ! truly the best bed research forum ! love the fact its honest and great info from Phoenix thanks so much for being real and not saying OH THIS IS THE BEST but being honest and saying its personal and giving info ! and thanks to all those that contribute !!! :slight_smile:

our previous beds were regular mattress setups then we got a costco memory foam thing novafoam or novaform ? forgot the name but lasted about a year before becoming a HORRID back breaking pit and we lived with it to many years and I finally just said this is it researched quite a bit and yes its comfy the first month then its all downill on those cheap ones and finding out later from others same thing its all downhill after the first month or two which leads me to regular reviews on some sites !
OH we just got our bed its so comfy its the best ! and then nothing ? well DUH its a new bed should be great but no follow up ?

so Jan 13th is our start into latex bed land and our bed is delivered on Thur figure this helps since so far its been show room time and actual sleep feedback will be coming :slight_smile:
but the show room feel is quite eye opening and have a good idea what we are in for :slight_smile: wwhheeeee :slight_smile: cant wait

we ended up going with Arizona Premium Mattress Co.
Ken was great guy had a blast talking to him and we had a lot in common so felt like hanging with a bud more than sales ! and also never felt any sales man type pressure and felt he was extremely honest about things from the get go also chatted a touch about this forum and stuff :slight_smile:
also having great info from reading here for a while I had some good base info on what I thought I would like and materials etc…
also from other beds we have bought wife and I know we like firm base with some give and a soft plush top for that top goosh :slight_smile: but firm for my back and hers etc… both side sleepers

spent a few hours there trying out different beds from pre made and also with the create your own components dragging on and off dif layers and rearranging them feeling of a topper without the mattress cover and the feeling of mattress covers etc… that was truly fun and really FEEL the differences

E King size ended up with the 6 inch extra firm base with two layers of 3 inch a 19 and 28 in toppers with the thin cover preferred this over the standard mattress cover feel but will have a nice cover to protect but not the zip cover just a softer wool top setup :slight_smile:
going to start with the 19 on top then the 28 under of course we figure for fun will swap them later on see what we think so 12 inches of latex :slight_smile: then that will be on the wood bases/frames they make there

both wife and I really felt that extra layer was WOW kinda feel we were looking for being a side sleeper guy with wide shoulders I have always had that issue of my shoulders could never really feel like they were not being pressure pushed and that extra layer on the top and the next layer under with still a nice base really helped ! have not had a bed ever that could suck up my shoulders and not felt like a marshmallow :slight_smile: that extra firm bottom we both love again lots of cush with support under the cush but it stops and does not feel to mushy
wife and I joked we would fall asleep right there again first impressions HUGE and the latex thing WOW what we thought memory foam should have been like it was SO SO NICE right off the bat no warming it up no anything just instant feel of where you were in it and comfort or not ! meaning I could tell with in a few minutes if it was to soft to firm and again trying all dif layers was a great experience !!! if anyone is shopping for a bed go into one of these places that will do this if you can or IMHO buy from someone that will exchange layers !!!

and from reading here I am sure this new love and comfort will continue and wont break down in a few months :slight_smile:

picked up two new pillows also one shredded and one formed and most likely try a few other latex ones so far I like the shredded :slight_smile:
have had everything from tempurpedic shaped ones the thin I used to like to buckwheat to gel top and always seem to end up with down I like the most but they end up being to flat by end of night ? so the shredded seems good I can mold it to my head and change height if I want to flip on my back !
I am always on the pillow hunt and never really been happy ? but never had a latex pillow before :slight_smile: so here is hoping I find a better pillow :wink: I doubt I will ever find THE PILLOW I dont believe they exist :slight_smile: hahahahah

while pillows are something you have to just sleep on and can only get a idea of what something is like by comparing with what you use now so I am sure I will be adding a few new latex pillows to my down and others :slight_smile: so cant wait to sleep on the pillows tonight and sure once the new bed is here will change everything again !

so again thanks to everyone and will touch base back in this thread with how its going on our new adventure because often the best posts I got info from were the follow ups !

Bed came today :slight_smile: so excited for tonight

the guy putting it together since I had it delivered setup was included :slight_smile:
I was mentioning the forum and how some like to know little things so was asking a few questions :slight_smile:

when he was looking and then flipped the one layer he was explaining what they look for or they call bubbles up then showed me how one side has tiny little release bubble marks like tiny tiny holes and the other side is a touch smoother
they tend to put the bubbles up cause sometimes that side can be a touch softer ? especially on a 6 inch base
thought that was interesting :slight_smile:

the mattress cover was quite thin or thinner than the regular thicker wool ones but for sure had wool in it thin amount seemed nicely made looked more like a standard mattress cover than a thick wool type topper :slight_smile: so hoping it does well for us seems like it will :slight_smile:
I dont even want to start looking at new sheets and get carried away :slight_smile:

again happy with it very little change in feel

one week in we are Happy :slight_smile:

I would be curious in a few weeks to try a different layer under ? only reason sometimes on my side I feel my hip pressure a bit ?
but I am going to go a month and see as I get used to it

last few nights I found I could sleep on my back ? which I have not done in years but used to sleep on my back a lot

so for wife no changes she can think of
for me on my back its perfect
my side I feel my hip a touch so not sure if the extra extra firm is not allowing enough sink ?

for fun test I am going to fold over the 28 layer and put the 19 on top for fun :slight_smile:
I think a 3rd 3 inch wold be to much with the base ? but maybe a 2 inch just above the extra firm base could relive the hip ? again no idea but will try some things in a while and figure it might take some fine tuning

overall WOW loving the mattress wake up feeling refreshed compared with what I have in so long can’t remember its nice and quiet when I get in late after working and wife is sleeping already and it sleeps much cooler for me which I enjoy my wife who loves a warmer bed has not complained that it is cooler either ?

all I can say is after having a memory foam and a few regular mattress and a higher end wool bed which we had in the islands when we were younger was quite nice but this latex has I would say the most comfortable bed since day 1

we bought 3 pillows also at the start
two rejuvenite pillows made by latex international

both low profile one shredded one the pinhole type or solid with holes ?

and a Malouf Z latex Zoned again a formed pillow with the holes in it in a low loft firm model

with one week in I am preferring the shredded pillow and my wife is preferring the Malouf model

the rejuvenite formed is a bit to soft for her and me but she prefers the softer rejuvenite even over the shredded
she found the shredded to much volume

I found her pillow the Maouf low volume firm to firm and did not allow me to form a head pocket so my head kinda sunk back in like it would in one of those formed pillows it is my least fav pillow ? and so we are exact opposite :slight_smile: with the rejuvenite classic model landing in the middle for both of us

both of us woke up a bit more feeling our kneck and back when we switched pillows

a interesting thing I found the shredded pillow much cooler all night do not wake up with a hot head where the solid pillow with the holes I wake up and my head was very hot not quite sweating but close !
down pillows I wake up sweating ! way to hot but I like the feel of them since I can conform them

interesting the Malouf pillow has more of a smell to it than the rejuvenate and I might say the rejuvenite are a bit better feeling cover and quality in finish the latex quality I have no idea ? but assume both brands are fine the smell of the Malouf is the only thing that makes me wonder ? but again wife is happy with it

still happy getting used to our new bed

I am going to change a layer this week after 2 months getting used to it to see how I like the bit firmer layer on top :slight_smile: might as well play a bit

but again wife is loving it very very happy and no complaints I have no complaints just always like trying new things so I know and can switch back so the layer change is more for fun to see if it can get better :slight_smile:
