I am 70 years alone and just bought a new mattress. Rotating the mattress will be a chore and I have trouble recruiting help. I am wondering if this alternative would work: when it’s time to rotate I just switch my sleeping orientation 180 degrees instead. I am sleeping where most people would consider the head of the bead (toward the wall). Instead of rotating it I would just switch position so that my head is positioned at the foot of the bed instead.
As far as evening out the wear on the mattress that’s effectively the same. The only other consideration would be if you have a full, queen or king mattress to also switch the side you sleep on, perhaps every other time you switch sleeping orientations. This would further help to even out wear on the mattress across its entire surface by alternating your position in both directions on both sides of the mattress.
