I’m about to purchase a Christeli Memory Foam Bed - the Tiffany 13.5"
It has 5 inches of 5.3lb Series & Memory Foam on top. I know the ‘rule’ is for 4lb or less, so I’m wondering what the opinion of 5 inches of 5.3 lb is and/or if anyone has any experience with this particular mattress.
The rest of the mattress is made of 2lb density foam. See link for cutaway.
Higher density means higher quality/durability and memory foam under 4 lbs is the density I would tend to avoid in amounts of more than about an inch or so in total.
2.0 lb polyfoam is also good quality and perfectly suitable for a base layer.
In other words … all the materials are good quality and there are no obvious weak links in the mattress. They are also good value IMO.
The only unknown would be the suitability of the mattress in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) because you can’t test the mattress before you purchase it. At the moment they are offering free 30 day returns (mattress only) if the mattress isn’t suitable for you and you make the wrong choice so the risk is relatively low (other than having to start all over again). If you did go in this direction I would make sure you keep the original plastic box in case you need it.
