Alright, I’ve decided to spend a good chunk more on a mattress and get one that I actually expect to last me 10-15 years.
I have narrowed it down to Arizona Premium or SleepEZ.
SleepEZ is cheaper for the same mattress and comes with a free latex pillow which seems to be actually worth around $50.
Arizona Premium appears to have a better return policy(pay return shipping vs $100 flat rate at SleepEZ.) and I’ve seen more positive reviews for APM overall. Not that I’ve seen any real negatives for SleepEZ.
If I go with SleepEZ, any opinions on Roma vs Hybrid for $100 difference?
I hope someone answers your question. I haven’t been getting the responses I had hoped to get with my posts. Anyhow, I just wanted to make sure you knew that the SleepEZ latex is the Dunlop latex. The only one that has Talaylay is their Organic mattress…or they have a 360 Hybrid, that is not listed on their website that you can get with Talaylay and do split sides if you’d like. It is $300 more though. Just thought I’d share that. I just got off the phone with them. Good luck! Keep us posted on what you get and how you like it! :-). Did you check out Luma by the way…?
I appreciate it! I noticed the SleepEZ sale supposedely goes off tonight which has me in a bit of a rush. I know their prices won’t go up $500 but I think normal prices are about $100 more than now.
Now I found SleepOnLatex… About the same price as the SleepEZ Hybrid but all latex. Definitely considering it heavily… Especially because it’s 100% free return and they send someone to pick it up without having to pack it back up yourself…
Sleep on Latex does offer an exceptional value, but their mattresses are of a fixed configuration with a choice of three firmness levels which are not customizable. Their latex is all high quality of the Dunlop variety. A great company to deal with also, very reputable with excellent customer service. They allow one return per customer per year in each product category… so one mattress, one topper, one cover, etc. They are very clear about it, so if you make an exchange the replacement cannot be returned.
The only real issue I had with their Standard mattress was a farm-like odor which I believe was from the wool used in their cover, it wasn’t a latex smell which I don’t mind and quickly dissipates. It’s acknowledged in several of their reviews and the company responded saying that trying to air it out is not recommended and can make it worse. I found the scent quite objectionable every time I walked into my bedroom. YMMV applies.

Thanks for the info!!
I did notice the non-adjustable configurations there. I know a lot of people say to just add a 2-3" topper in the firmness if your choice, but that kind of ruins the very nice cover.
Thanks for letting me know about the smell.
I think it’s really down to the SOL vs SleepEZ. DIY Mattress/APM has good prices before shipping but shipping is around $100 on average which puts them above my budget.
I was sad to see that the SleepEZ is sealed. I was hoping it had a zippered cover in case a layer wears out.
After some searching through my email I found the configurations of the Standard mattresses from SoL for your reference, which are not detailed on their site and were provided by their customer service.
Below is a breakdown of each layer of our mattresses:
Standard Soft - 24 ILD 6" base with a 2" 20 ILD top layer
Standard Medium - 34 ILD 6" base with a 2" 20 ILD top layer
Standard Firm - 44 ILD 6" base with a 2" 30 ILD top layer
@mdgail1 - I’m not sure where you got that info but believe you may be mistaken if you’re referring to APM (in Phoenix) and SleepEZ (in Tempe). You may be confusing that SleepEZ also operates Latex Mattress Factory. It can certainly be confusing with so many mattress manufacturers being based in Arizona.
Ahh yes, my bad. Arizona Premium Latex Mattress Company and SleepEZ are sister companies. Not Arizona Premium Mattress Company. You are correct. I always get them confused. lol Thanks for the correction.
