On next 5 to 10 years, I’m thinking of I’m going to buy my new Avocado mattress, any thoughts on this?
Thoughts? I guess my thoughts are basically a review.
I went to Avocado store. I tried them all. Didnt like any of them. They have Dunlop latex. I didnt like any of them.
But….you should try it. Why? Mattresses are subjective. To me, Dunlop feels like a hockey puck. Other people love Dunlop.
Go see if you like Dunlop first.
I like Talalay.

Hi F23948,
In my mind, I find it to be an unusual or strange question. I realize in our previous discussions you purchased a new mattress. I am wondering if you are not happy with your choice and expect it to only last 5 years or so or you are just curious about the Avocado. I have a really good friend who purchased the Avocado for his main king sized bed for his master bedroom, this past summer. I pointed out the BB Bloom, and he bought one of them too for his guest room in a queen sized. He ended up returning the Avocado, as his wife was ultimately not comfortable. They both love the bloom. They ended up getting a BB Plank Luxe as I was happy with mine and they believed I would steer them in the right direction with their PPP’s. I digress back to you. My thought is, 5 years is a long time. Avocado may still be around, they may not, they may offer the same iteration or find that something else works better for their customers and change it up a bit. As @BillyIdol mentioned, he went to the store and tried one and didn’t like it. In 5 years they may change it up a bit and @BillyIdol might have a different opinion about the mattress at that time, just as my friend my be walking by an Avocado authorized dealer and try a new version in 5 years and say, wow, what an improvement. Perhaps they will learn via their customers, that a talalay comfort layer with some horsehair thrown in makes for a better mattress for their clientele.
I think the prudent thing to do is continue to watch the market trends, see how the individuals’ reviews change over time, see how your comfort level and preferences change as you get older. Then revisit in 5 years, if what you thought, how you feel, and what is available at that time still coincides with what is going on in your life at that time. Look, even with something as simple as a pair of sneakers, version 15 is not the same as version 11 of the same model shoe, as they make subtle improvements based on surveys, trials and customer needs. This may not be the exact answer you were looking for, but I would not put the cart on front of the horse, as the saying goes. Good luck with your current new mattress.
Revive Sleep Centers inside Living Spaces has Avocado (Southern California). I tried Avocado there. Still didnt like them.
I assume many people do like Avocado. I dont think you will like them. Go to an Avocado store first.
