Hello everyone,
Recently I began the tedious task of bed shopping with my wife and we were interested in a memory foam mattress from the onset. We looked and tried many different brands, but kept gravitating towards a Tempur-pedic Supreme Breeze with the price tag of $4199+tax. We had been bitten by the cheaper mattress bug four years ago and here we are looking again, so it seemed somewhat reasonable to think that good mattresses come at a premium price. I decided to sleep on it and luckily came across this forum. Taking Phoenix’s advice to heart, thanks again for all the information you provide, I started looking into comparable companies that have high end memory foam offerings.
The one company that caught my eye was Brooklyn Bedding and their PureCool Supreme mattress which is their equivalent to the Tempur model we liked. I called and spoke with Mario, he was beyond informative with info about their memory foam layers, densities, gel/cooling properities and explained they have a 60 day return policy/120 exchange with $100 shipping charge. Satisfied with all the information I was provided and the easy return policy, I placed an order for a King size Purecool Supreme mattress with the final price being about half as Tempur. As a thank you to this community for helping me out, I want to provide my ongoing review of this mattress to hopefully help others looking to make this, albeit big purchase.
We just received out mattress yesterday via Fedex, only one week after placing our order. The mattress came packed in order to save space. We simply unrolled it and placed onto the Simple Life foundation to expand. I attached a few pictures, one initially after unpacking and the other taken a few hours later as the mattress is taking it’s final shape. My initial impressions are that the mattress’ feeling is cool to touch just like Tempur and the feel when laying on the mattress is very comparable, if not better IMO. My review of my first night of sleep would be that I had noticable less pressure on my joints due to memory foam and also I noticed slight sorenesss in my middle/lower back upon waking this morning. I attribute this to be the mattress actually providing support to my back, unlike my old pillow-top mattress. Per Mario’s advice, I will give it at least two-three full weeks to adjust to the bed before making a somewhat objective final review. I will provide ongoing updates as time passes, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
