My wife and I are thinking about ordering a Berkeley Ergonomics all latex, all-natural Talalay mattress but am somewhat concerned about the longevity. I’ve seen you tout BE beds as having no missing links but you’ve also suggested that all natural Dunlop or blended Talalay would be the better choice for durability. I’m over 200 lbs and 6’1 while my wife is about half my size. Should I be concerned that it might not be the best choice for us? It was definitely comfortable and I was surprised to learn that I liked the plush version more than the firm (a little concerned about that as well with regard to longevity). We’re both side sleepers. We also really liked the Obasan Acadia 2.0, finding it similar to the BE bed but a little less bouncy (which we liked) and in natural dunlop. We just can’t justify the price. This is my first post so I’d also like to thank you for running this site and sharing your knowledge with all of us.

Latex in general (including 100% natural Talalay) is the most durable foam material so it would always be a durable choice relative to other types of foam materials. BE also uses Radium as their supplier which uses a special curing paste in their lower ILD Talalay and their testing indicates that their 100% natural is very closely comparable to their blend in terms of durability.
If the comfort layer does soften before the support core (which is likely with any softer material) then it can also be replaced individually without having to replace the complete mattress. In other words … if the mattress is suitable for you in terms of PPP I wouldn’t be concerned about durability with any of their mattresses.
