I wanted to ask if anyone has good organic/natural pillow options to use between knees for side sleeping that also work well under knees for back sleeping.
I have an all latex mattress and use a buckwheat neck pillow under my head/neck. I would love a couple “normal” size pillows that I can use my standard or queen pillow cases on, that also work well for the functions listed above. I was looking at possibly trying wool pillows. I sleep hot, so something that sleeps cool would be really important.
I have a couple shredded latex pillows that came with my mattress, but they are pretty floppy and not what I’m looking for exactly. I also have a molded latex pillow from Avocado that I bought about 8-9 years ago, but would prefer something a little less stiff/molded.
I did not like shredded latex or latex noodle pillows at all. They were loose and when you moved the stuff by your head it feels hard. Solid latex performs much better. Really loved the purple harmony pillow though it took a day or two to get used to it with the gel grid outer layer. Latex pillows are buoyant, and the grid layer settles that.
At the moment am considering the sleep on latex pillow. I like the idea of two cotton outer layers and only one loft option. Must mean it actually works for most people. It seems to me that buoyant latex, settled down by an outer layer is a very optimal setup. More companies should try to do this, maybe getting a pillow encasement, putting the latex pillow in and adding wool all the way around the latex.
Another one i am pleasantly surprised by is the allswell serene foam pillow. Just throwing that out there. Was an offhand buy from walmart. It really does feel serene. I know it’s not a natural option but it feels so good to me and was very affordable.
Thank you Gc for your input and suggestions! Glad I’m not the only one who wasn’t into the shredded latex pillows. I know Avocado now mixes their greens pillows with the shredded latex and kapok, but I have not tried those yet…
It’s hard finding a good pillow. That serene foam pillow i was telling you about, i just got it yesterday and ended up not really liking it. Returning it today. My favorite so far is the purple harmony. Im guessing solid latex with a good cover is gonna be the winner, or at least the most worth trying. Probably gonna order two pillows from sleeponlatex today.
