Hello,
I am a 56 year old female and I weigh 110 lbs. I am a mostly side sleeper but occasionally sleep on my back. I sometimes wake up with hip and back pain and am a very hot sleeper. I am looking for something that will offer pressure relief, and be as cooling as possible. I live in NYC and want to only buy from a store where I can try out the mattress and I only want to buy from a place that does delivery and set up. I tried quite a few mattresses and a friend of mine knows someone who works at bedquarters mattress, mattress accessories and furniture in Mineola, Manhattan and Bayside NY | BedQuarters and he offered me a very good price on 2 options that I liked, temperpedic pro–adapt in soft and the Stearns and Foster Cassat mattress. I have also heard that Obassan is good as well as avocado green. Can someone give me some advice as which of these they would recommend or if they would recommend something else for me. Also are any of your trusted partners in NYC? Please help as I am feeling very overwhelmed and this is such a big purchase and I don’t want to make a mistake.
Many of the online BIAB companies have pretty good return policies and sleep trials, just make sure that the return process is easy and doesnt require an overly burdensome proof of donation or something like that. Some also offer delivery and setup options.
With that said, there is the sleepare store in Manhattan that will let you try out a lot of online mattresses in store and I believe they give you a discount if you buy in store from them.
I’m overwhelmed too. I live in the Los Angeles County area in California. Where can I find a good mattress. Everything is online but I want to test the mattress. Any suggestions for local manufacturers in my area would be greatly appreciated.
Hi SherriHollander and all in the thread!
As Tgk mentioned, most BIAB companies and certainly our Trusted Members have pretty solid return and exchange policies and sleep trials. Thanks, Tgk, for sharing the resource in Manhattan!
As for our Trusted Members, we do not have any in New York at this time. However, you can get a good feel for a quality retailer with these tips.
If you come across a mattress you’d like help evaluating, let us know! We are here to help.
