Got it, put it on the top of my glacier apex mattress, and its smaller than the top of the bed by 1.5-2" on every side. Is this normal?

Iād start by measuring both the topper and the mattress with a tape measure to see what the actual dimensions are. Measure edge to edge across the top surface of the mattress, not including any rounded corners from the cover, and then do the same with the topper once it is fully laid flat. That will tell you whether it is truly undersized or if it just looks that way.
It is true that some toppers, especially ones made with latex or compressed packaging, can expand a bit over the first day or two after unboxing. But being 1.5 to 2 inches smaller on every side sounds a little excessive for normal manufacturing variance. If your measurements confirm it is significantly smaller than the mattress, it would be reasonable to contact the either birch or glacier to double check that you received the correct size and verify the component is within tolerance.

The width was 58" and the length was 78". Is that normal? And im not judging based on the width of the surface. Im judging based on the half inch of stitched material hanging off the side. The surface is 57.5" width and 77.25" length.
Is that acceptable? And what would they even do to resolve this?
Nevermind, it seems fine. Its not that bad.

Sometimes it takes a bit to get to full intended size. When I got my 3" wool topper, I thought it was way too small. The topper expanded a good amount after sleeping on it for a few days. Of course wool is a natural fiber and has different characteristics, but latex is a natural foam and will expand a bit too.
