Box-Spring Construction Question

I have a question regarding the construction of box springs, that I haven’t seen answered elsewhere. I am trying to compare box springs from two different companies: one is described as using a large number of individually pocketed springs, while the other appears to use a smaller number of “independent hourglass springs,” which are linked with “Hessian Webbing.”

Does anyone know if there are any particular benefits or drawbacks to one of these construction methods versus the other?

Thanks!

Who are the two companies that you are comparing and what mattress will be used with either set of springs? Is there a particular support feel that you’re trying to achieve with one type of spring vs. the other? We need a little more to go on before researching your question further, I am not familiar with Hessian Webbing in a coil unit construction. Looking forward to your reply and thanks  .

Thanks for the reply, Sensei!

The companies are Vispring and Savoir – the mattresses would be the Regal Superb and the No. 4, respectively.

I am not necessarily looking for a specific feel – I have tried both and found them comfortable. I am more looking at the relative merits of the construction methods, comparative value, longevity, etc.

Thanks for the help!
