Brooklyn Bedding 3" Latex Topper - Awesome

I’ve been meaning to write a review about this mattress topper. I was referred to brooklynbedding by a couple of forum threads in here. I’m not exactly ready to buy a mattress but as you will see, in the future I will buy from Brooklyn Bedding.com

First I arrived at the site and immediately I was messaged and helped, Jacob was the representative that started talking to me. He asked me 3 questions to determine my ideal comfort, my weight, my sleeping position, and what my comfort preference is (such as what I sleep on now). I am 170lbs and a side-stomach combination sleeper slept on a soft innerspring mattress which has begun to start sagging 1 year after buying! sad face He suggested I get a 6, but I thought I wanted softer so I got an 8 instead. The cover comes with a bamboo cover and i really like all the natural benefits of latex, it’s not removable which I don’t completely agree with but Jacob advised me in order to provide a good price (they had the best price out there) they don’t use the zippers as it’s hard to integrate them into the bamboo fabric. He advised to get a mattress protector and just wash that instead, so I got the mattress protector on their website. Seems fair enough. He also gave me a really awesome deal, when I want to buy a mattress, he can sell me a mattress without the topper so I can just swap my existing topper into the new mattress! He didnt give me a price and said I would have to call to work it out but thats still awesome! I love how flexible they are.

It took less than a week to get the topper (incredibly fast shipping) and it came in a small box, air compressed and rolled. I cut the plastic wrapper and it came to life in a few minutes. There was no stinky smell, topper was in great condition, and I like the bamboo cover; The mattress protector was also in the same box (not compressed) and looks like a great product as well. It easily covers the profile of my mattress.

The topper was too soft for my preference so I ended up taking advantage of their 120-day trial and they sent me a replacement within a week as well. I decided to get the level he recommend the first time  (the level 6) and it’s been about a month or more since I’ve had the new topper… I have not slept this well since I was younger, I have no lower back pains, I wake up in the morning easier, I don’t get tired throughout the day, my wife is sleeper better, she didn’t have back issues but she said she feels like a new person. It’s amazing what a 3" topper can do. I am definitely in love with Talalay Latex now and I really appreciate the great customer service brooklyn bedding offered, the option to upgrade to a mattress down the road, the prompt customer service, the fast shipping, the recommendation.

If you are hesitant to buy online, don’t be. The age of buying mattresses has changed, no longer are you going to some hard salesman in a big brand name store, who has no idea whats in the mattress and just sells you whatever to make a commission. I paid 2,500$ for my old mattress and it is gonna need to be replaced soon. The guy didnt ask me any questions about what I liked, he just had me lay on a mattress and sold it to me. I know this is kind of my fault too, I didn’t do any research but I guess I never thought too. I thought if it felt good and it was a good brand, I’d get it. Long story short, I won’t buy from those big companies anymore, it’s either going to be online or at a small local factory.

I highly recommend Brooklyn Bedding to anyone and if you want a topper, they are awesome! I’ll post another review later this year when I upgrade to a mattress!

Also, thanks Phoenix for the great website, it was through you that I learned so much and feel like somewhat of a mattress guru!

how did you ship it back when you exchanged it ? i also got one that’s too soft, but i’m not sure how i can ship that thing because i obviously can’t vacuum seal it and fit it back in the box it came in ?

They sent the replacement first (there’s a deposit), but it comes in a much bigger box. I cut the wrapper of the new topper carefully and used that to wrap my old topper. I rolled it up like a taquito (hahaha couldnt think of another way to say it) and it fit in there real easy. Slapped the returned label and dropped it off at a fedex location.

nice !

Hi vici0usx,

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed report on your topper and Brooklyn Bedding … I appreciate it

It certainly helps make the case about the “value” of a comfort exchange as well.

No, thank you for the wonderful site, you have helped a lot of people and it is well appreciated!

I appreciate this posting, as I chatted with Jacob also, and you have answered my question about return shipping and the comfort guarantee. Did you have to pay for the return postage? This forum is truly helpful to me. I think I will buy the 3" topper, as well, probably in the Level 6, as Jacob suggested. I’m wondering if you bought the mattress protector to put over the bamboo cover, or did you buy the latex without the bamboo cover, and will use the mattress protector instead of the bamboo cover? Also what size did you get and, if you don’t mind my asking, what was the cost of your topper? Thanks, in advance, for answering my questions.

Brooklyn Bedding is amazing. More people should purchase quality products from them.

Yeah, I bought the mattress protector as well and put it over entire mattress including the topper. The topper I got has the cover on it, double protection! It’s a king size topper, 3", level 6, cover on, and the price was around 360~
