First of all I would like to say thanks to the forum for guiding me into what I hope is a great choice for a bed for me.I lurked, tested and read for quite a while and made a choice to buy the aloe alexis from Brooklyn Bedding.
At the time of purchase they were pushing the Simple Life foundation as their freebie. I was not greatly excited about that foundation and they did offer a discount if I did not include it in my purchase. The offer was comparable to what I would have had to pay for a similar frame elsewhere so for convenience I took the Simple Life foundation.
The mattress arrived today. The foundation well, hmm it looks like I will be sleeping on the floor for a week. We have no alternative except to go out and buy locally tomorrow so I am not too happy. I could have had any other foundation I wanted a week ago.
A quick chat on their site resulted in a sorry we are a bit overwhelmed in the last two weeks.
I guess I should add one more thing. I just opened the box for the mattress protector from Brooklyn Bedding and it is not the one I purchased. I ordered the Sleep Tite by Malouf Hypoallergenic 100% Waterproof Mattress Protector and I received a “Clean Sleep” protector branded by Brooklyn Bedding, I suppose this could be the same thing but the warranty is different.
So 2 out of 3, I am a bit afraid to open the mattress box.

I called Brooklyn Bedding to find out about their Simple Life foundations and to see how long any delays may be and apparently their supplier was late with a delivery and they were out of the foundation for a day or two last week so it should be “right behind” the mattress and you should have it very quickly (it won’t be a week since all the delayed orders have already been shipped).
They are also about to start selling a branded mattress protector on Amazon and it seems that they sent you the wrong one by mistake so Jacob said to ask you to call him (or use their chat) and he will send you out the Sleep Tite right away and that you could just keep the one you received and use it until you receive the correct one.
Hopefully you will be all set in a couple of days … and I’m looking forward to your feedback on the mattress
Thanks Phoenix, I am going to unwrap the mattress tonight! I might have been a bit hyperbolic with the last line in my post, I really do trust that Brooklyn Bedding is doing their best and it is really tough for companies to adjust to an apparent surge in popularity at the same time the tax refunds are coming in. Hopefully in the near future I can have a more positive report of the real experience we all strive for and the one that is really important: a good nights sleep.
I hope you learn to enjoy yours as much as I do mine…One warning, Latex feels different than anything else I have ever tried - it supports you everywhere! It feels a little funny the first couple of days. Now I expect support all over and I no longer wake up with severe arm/shoulder pain.
I would buy the Aloe Alexis again in a heartbeat and have bought a second one already.
I paid full price for the foundation as it wasn’t available when I started doing business with BB. The good news is it sleeps very well, is light but very sturdy.
If you are happy with your product the delay in shipping will fade in your memory as you enjoy the benefits of Latex.

I am all smiles at the moment. The Simple Life foundation arrived today. It has much higher quality than I imagined and super simple to set up.
Just a mention about the BB mattress protector, I would guess it is very similar to the sleep-tite. If I get a chance to do a direct comparison I will share but from what I have read in descriptions this is no different.
I want to comment on my initial post. Some days are not that great and of course that day coincided with the delivery date. I had a situation with a co-worker not performing. A bit out of my control but a possible reflection on my performance. The situation virtually parallel to what was happening with BB and their partner. On my side of this, the information about the actual shipping date of the foundation was available to me. I was just unaware how to access each piece of the delivery on the Fed-Ex site. I apologize for that.

I have been sleeping on this bed a number of nights. It is perfect for me, comfortable and cool. There was zero adjustment time, I am super satisfied. I really did not know a bed could sleep so well.
I considered going cheap on a bed, spending what is a significant investment to many on a bed may not seem wise. How good can a bed be? Am I buying the right one? I am sure their are a lot of great beds out there but I would not have found this one without the help of Mario and Jacob at Brooklyn Bedding. Thank you so much.
