Me and my boyfriend are looking for a mattress and going down the search hole. I was about to spend my hard earned money on Tempurpedic when I found this website through reddit. I spent most of my day researching all the types of mattress and feel a little clear but still have some confusion as to what exactly to choose and have narrowed down to these options: Brooklyn bedding, verlo, mygreen mattress, Beloit mattress company, ghostbed. I live in Chicago so I have access to all these showrooms (except ghostbed). We are looking for a medium-firm king mattress as we often wake up with pain in the shoulder and hips with our current mattress (beautyrest pressuresmart 14.75" plush pillowtop mattress). Our budget is in the range of $2000-2500. He is a hot sleeper so we would also prefer a cooling mattress.
Can someone please guide me through this process of getting a new mattress?
Also is it worth it to spend money on the adjustable bases?
Me: 5’4" 120 lbs side and back sleeper
Him: 5’10" 170 lbs side sleeper (hot sleeper)
