For background: I’m brand new to The Mattress Underground, but I’ve just done several hours of reading through essential posts and while I feel a lot more knowledgable than I was before on mattress quality and construction, I currently feel like my brain is swimming in a ton amount of information, lol.
I’m in Alaska (Anchorage specifically), and currently in the market for a new bed, but my options are a lot more limited up here (there aren’t any trusted member businesses for example). I’ve only just begun calling around to see if local businesses are able to provide detailed specs on the layers of their mattresses so I can assess quality and durability, but I’ve started with a store called The Mattress Ranch because they actually have some specs listed on their website unlike other stores in my area that sell some of the bigger brands.
This is an example of one of their mattresses and its specs: Mattress Ranch option.

Can someone help me understand the way they explain their specs? They seem to be different than the way posts here have guided me to understand foam density (i.e. 1.8lb polyfoam being an ideal density, for example, and 4lb being ideal for memory foam). I’m not sure what “15 lb Latex w/JuviGel” even means in terms of a durability and quality standpoint. Or what “11lb Gel Memory Foam”, or “10lb Super-Soft Poly Foam” means. Should I ask them what the density of the foam is per cubic feet? Does anyone have any insight into this? They said they are happy to contact the factory for more detailed information if I need it, but I thought I would start here.

The listed specifications for the Sound Sleep Collection Hybrid Pro+ Plush raise some questions and would i would like more clarification.
The mattress is described as having “3/4" Copper Infused 15lb Latex 
w/ JuviGel, 2" Copper Infused 11lb Gel Memory Foam 
, and 2" 10lb Super-Soft Poly Foam,” 
but those density numbers do not align at all with typical material ranges used in the mattress industry.
Latex foam is usually around 3–6 lb/ft³, memory foam commonly falls in the 3–7 lb/ft³ range, and polyurethane (poly) foam is typically about 1–2.5 lb/ft³ depending on quality.
Because the listed numbers of 10–15 lb are far outside normal density ranges for these materials, it is unclear whether these values represent true foam densities, an internal product code, or a different measurement entirely. Or perhaps they are missing the decimal point between the first and second digit, which would really raise issues for concern.
I would try and contact the manufacturer for more transparency and accurate evaluation of the mattress. It would be helpful if the manufacturer clarified whether these figures represent actual foam density (lb/ft³), ILD/firmness ratings, or another internal specification, and provided the correct density ranges for the latex, memory foam, and poly foam layers.
This one is a bit of mystery. Unless, one of our other Trusted Member Experts are familiar with the way this company provides information and can shed some additional insight, something does not fit here.

Your confusion validates my own, lol! I think I’ll reach out and ask for more transparency and whether these figures “represent actual foam density (lb/ft³), ILD/firmness ratings, or another internal specification, and provided the correct density ranges for the latex, memory foam, and poly foam layers” as you mentioned. I wasn’t sure how to phrase the question, so your commend has helped a lot with that. I hope I’ll be able to update you all next week with more information!
