Firstly, I suppose I too should start by thanking you, Phoenix, for saving me from buying an S brand. I was thiiiiis close!
So after staying up on the forum, though I had to work in the morning, until 4:30am and understanding that perhaps I can sleep in the Ferrari of mattresses when I’m a bit closer to driving one… I chose the Ultimate Dreams King Eurotop Latex Mattress. The great reviews here, and the hundreds on Amazon definitely influenced my decision.
I even went out locally to test how I’d like Latex mattresses. Turns out that I’ve been missing out, smh. Oh well, better now than never. There’s even a 10% coupon on the DreamFoamBedding.com site, at the time of writing this, so the mattress was only $899…Now all I need is my new platform bed
This is quite similar to me; I was about to buy one of those cheap Chinese foam mattresses on Amazon before I stumbled upon this site and found out how bad of an idea that was. The Mattress Underground has been a very valuable source of information, and I must thank Phoenix for your great and informative posts!
After spending many hours reading through the buying guide and various posts here, I decided on the Ultimate Dreams 13" gel memory foam mattress. I prefer a more plush mattress, and many people on this forum have had good experiences with it, so I finally made the purchase last night. It was a bit more than I had originally planned to spend on a mattress, but I figured that since I’m going to spend more than a third of my life sleeping, it’s worth investing in a high quality mattress!
Once it comes in and I have a chance to sleep on it for a few weeks, I’ll be sure to post my opinions.
