Cirrus Luxe ES

Hi rarerules,

I certainly agree that their website in some parts is “pieces on top of pieces” that has been put together over their 8 years in business but to translate this into “poor business practices” is a stretch at best. They are working on their website but this is a project that is more complex than you may believe. I know other manufacturers of this site that also have been working on a website update (to correct information that is out of date) that has taken over a year and is still not finished yet in spite of ongoing work. Select foam has been aware of this and been working on it since long before you “brought it to their attention” and I don’t think they are working on your schedule or expectations of how long a major revamp of a website should take. I have also been bringing various things to their attention as I come across them but this has nothing to do with the accuracy or quality of the information they provide on the phone or the quality or value of their mattresses. It’s simply the facts of life that when you add pieces to a website “ad hoc” over a course of years then the time often comes when a complete revamp of the site becomes necessary and this takes much more time than the “schedule” you appear to believe they “should” follow may allow.

Of course if a website of a particular manufacturer or any other factor in your personal value equation is of primary importance to you over the quality or value of a mattress or if you see “red flags” where others may not … then this of course would be a valid reason for you to purchase elsewhere … but it certainly isn’t a good reason to suggest that others do the same or “imply” that somehow they have poor business practices when in fact the opposite is the norm for them and they go out of their way … often well above and beyond … to help their customers.

My goodness … your comments remind me (to some degree) of an email that I received recently that was more focused on and critical of the spelling mistakes in some of my posts that it was on the content of the site. Sometimes it’s all too easy to miss the forest for the trees.

The “benefit of the doubt” isn’t based on my recommendation … it’s based on the quality and value of their mattresses and their knowledge and transparency, which is self evident for anyone who takes the time to do the research. It requires no “belief in someone else’s recommendation” whether it’s me or anyone else. Their return policy also puts what they say about their mattresses “to the test” and significantly reduces the risk of an online purchase.

Just wanted to relay that I received my Cirrus Luxe ES and adjustable frame today. I ordered the white glove service and the company that delivered and set-up was a local company with a good reputation. They did a fine job setting up everything and removing the old mattress and box spring. For some reason I thought the foam mattress would arrive looking like it does in the store, however, it came rolled up in a big baggie. Once removed from the baggie it grows to its full size. So far, Select Foam has delivered and done what they promised. I’m still waiting on the complimentary pillows and mattress cover, but I’m sure they are on the way.

Does anyone have advice on expediting the break-in process? This is my first foam mattress and any feedback would be appreciated. I heard walking on it helps get the air out.

Hi Millennor,

It’s always a great day (or night) when a new mattress arrives and we actually get to sleep on it

The roll packing so that the mattress can be shipped through carrier at a much reduced cost. if a mattress is shipped uncompressed through truck freight it adds significantly to the cost of the mattress. Many online manufacturers do this.

The initial break in period is a normal process of some initial softening of the foam and stretching of the cover that happens just from sleeping and regular use of the mattress and normally there are no special measures required to break in a mattress. In some cases a mattress may be a little bit too firm initially so if you need to speed up the process then walking on the mattress evenly across the surface for a week or so can speed up the process but normally isn’t necessary. Rotating the mattress after a couple of weeks initially and then monthly for the first few months can also help even out the initial break in of the materials but in most cases just sleeping on the mattress is fine. Higher density foams can take a little longer to break in than lower density foam.

Millennor,

I just ordered the same mattress and adjustable base. How long did it take for you to receive your order? How do you like the bed thus far?

Thanks.

It took two weeks. And two days in it feels great. Never really thought about getting an adjustable base until I actually tried one, now I don’t know why I waited so long to get one. The remote is easy to use and I didn’t know it also came with a massage function. Feels every bit as good as Tempurpedics I tried. So far, I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great, Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to receiving mine.

I’ve had a good experience with Select Foam. I have a herniated disc in my lumbar spine, had back surgery about 6 months ago, and began considering trying a memory foam mattress a couple months after my surgery. About two and a half months ago, I purchased the Regalis HD (their version of TP’s Rhapsody). The mattress seems to be good quality and as described, but I’m finding that it’s a bit too firm for me, so I’m using their 90-day return/exchange policy by exchanging my queen Regalis for a queen Cirrus Luxe ES. I decided to go with the Luxe after spending about 40 minutes in a department store laying on a TP Cloud Luxe. Today I paid the difference (the Luxe is more expensive) and promptly received an exchange confirmation via email.

One key thing is they do not require me to return the Regalis until the Luxe arrives, that way I’m not without a bed for a couple weeks.

Also, they’re currently offering $300 off any purchase over $2000, and even though my original purchase was during a time when they weren’t offering that deal, they are honoring the $300 off on my exchange. The queen sized Cirrus Luxe ES is just under $2000 (it’s $1999) but I decided to also purchase a foundation along with this exchange, which put me over the minimum for the $300 off sale. The foundation is priced at $300, so I’m essentially getting the foundation for free.

My sales agent at Select Foam is Peter Guerrero. Peter has been very helpful, listened carefully to my back and sleep issues, did not give me any trouble at all about doing the exchange, and seems to be genuinely focused on helping me find the right mattress.

Peter was also my rep and has been great. He has followed up with several emails making sure everything is good. I’m very happy with my Select Foam purchase, and their rep, Peter. I would give the company a big thumbs up.

Just received word that my Cirrus Luxe and Adjustable Bed Frame are on their way. I should have it sometime next week and will give a full review. I also received my mattress protector from Select Foam that I ordered. It’s a Leggett & Platt Premier Mattress Protector. I also purchased some Bamboo sheet sets and a Luna Premium Hypoallergenic 100% Waterproof Mattress Protector from Amazon and two Dream Solutions Latex Pillows from Sears. Looking forward to a great night sleep.

Hi cviz,

It sounds like you are all set once all the parts of your sleeping system arrive.

If you’re anything like me, the last few days of waiting are always the hardest because anticipation is the highest
