The first place I would start your mattress research is post #1 here which has all the basic information, steps, and guidelines that can help you make the best possible choices. Perhaps even more importantly it can help you with what to avoid such as most major brands and mass market retailers and chain stores.
A mattress is only as good as its construction and the quality of the materials inside it and being able to assess durability and any weak links in a mattress (usually in the upper layers) is the reason that it’s so important to know the specifics of every layer in a mattress because you can’t “feel” the quality or durability of a mattress in a showroom (low quality materials can feel just like higher quality materials … they just don’t last as long).
Some of the better options and possibilities I’m aware of in the general area are listed in post #8 here but there is only one that is local to you (and their website is no longer working) so I’ll take a look tomorrow and see if I can do some preliminary research and narrow down some of the better options and possibilities in the Windsor area.
