compressing memory foam

Does compressing memory foam for shipping damage it? (See You Tube video for Atlantic Beds). Since I live in Hawaii, this makes a big difference in shipping costs.

Hi okgardener,

If the memory foam is good quality and it only remains compressed for relatively short periods of time (a few weeks or so) then no it shouldn’t damage the memory foam.

Compression can affect the durability of the memory foam or affect its ability to come back to its full height if it is compressed for longer periods of time and/or in warmer or more humid conditions such as with shipping from China or longer term storage in a warehouse.
