Hi there,
I’m in the process of choosing a new mattress. I am from Europe (the Netherlands) and I would like to rely on the expertise of the people on this website after having read in guides on the website.
I have my eyes on this mattress: M Line Cool Motion 7
As much as I understand it’s a relatively local mattress company, although I have also noticed that they’re investing heavily in marketing and expanding in Europe.
My questions are:
-
Do you think this mattress is of good quality?
I have tried to inquire further about the materials used in the mattress, unfortunately the company could not give me detailed information on every layer. What I have found out is that the layer underneath the memory foam is HR foam, and if I understood correctly, the foam under the springs (bottom layer) is also HR foam. Not sure about the foam balls in the middle. Also there was not much info on the springs layer.
Not sure if this is an indication of anything, but the mattress is really quite heavy in terms of its weight. -
There is another mattress which is identical in its structure, but the firmer version, Cool Motion 8. What I have noticed is that the density of the memory foam layer is 4 lbs/ft3 in the cool motion 7 and 5 lbs/ft3 in the cool motion 8. Following the info on this website what I understand is that the 5lbs/ft3 is better in terms of quality and durability. However, what is tricky for me is that the Cool Motion 7 seems to the right fit in terms of spinal alignment and also comfort (pressure points, etc). The Cool Motion 8 aligns my spine less well.
What are your thoughts on this? Does the durability of the memory foam layer also depend on the layers underneath?
Some personal details: I’m 5’9" guy weighing 128 lbs, side sleeper mostly with occasional back sleeping.
Thanks in advance for all the advice!
