Cover Needed for Latex Topper?

Hi Maverick76er,

I’m considering purchasing a 1" 100% Talalay Latex Foam Topper to get a bit more pressure relief from a mattress. I was looking at a site from which you can order the latex directly, such as this:

I would read this post and this post and this topic (about their polyfoam and sources) and this post (presumably from a past employee) before buying anything from FBM. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable dealing with them and as you can see they don’t sell Talalay latex.

Post #4 here includes a list of more reliable sources for latex toppers where you will receive what you thought you were ordering.

The question is: would I need a separate cover (or sleeve?) for this foam, or would my protector (for the mattress) be enough to protect it?

It would be preferable to use a dedicated cover yes (see post #2 here).
