Curtis Bros IntelliGrid Nexus

We were shopping for furniture in OKC yesterday and went to a Curtis Bros outlet store. Started talking with the guy in the mattress department and were impressed by his knowledge. Over the years we’ve been through numerous mattresses and have always been disappointed (Avocado, Brooklyn Bedding, and many more). The main features we’re looking for include:

  • Firm with good support
  • Cooling (we’ll be living in Oklahoma)
  • Low toxicity
  • Won’t start sagging in the middle after a short period of time

The IntelliGrid Nexus felt great, but I’m still trying to get over the price. I’ve found very little info on it so was wondering if anyone here might have tried them out.

They’re supposedly made by Lady Americana. Most of my searches end up including results for “intellibed” which I understand to be something completely different. Thanks!

Hey wsp2.

Welcome back to the mattress forum

I couldn’t find much discussion around the specific “Nexus” variant in the forum archive of The Mattress Underground. One long-running thread shows mixed feedback and highlights that some users found it too firm or expensive. That’s, of course, all very relative.

A little scour of the internet suggests that the IntelliGrid system uses a grid-style comfort layer that many reviews say offers strong pressure relief and alignment.

Another company that uses a grid is Nest Bedding (@NestBedding) - you might find their Contour Grid mattress interesting!

You may also want to take a look at Oklahoma Mattress Factory since you’re in the area. They’re a Trusted Member of our site and are very knowledgable in what they do!

Dont you mean Mathis Brothers?

I know that for a long time, Mathis Brothers were the only one offering Intellibed even after Intellibed was no longer offered at Mattress Firm.

Im thinking the Mathis Brothers either bought Intellibed or they made their own in house copy of Intellibed. Intellibed was similar to Purple but seemed more durable

Yes, sorry, I meant Mathis Brothers! Had a discussion with my wife that maybe “Curtis Mathis” went from making TVs to mattresses, and Curtis stuck in my brain.
